A Verified Glympse account is an account on which the account holder has validated their identity with Glympse using their phone number. A user can verify their account by adding their phone number to their profile in the Glympse app settings OR by accessing the Private Groups feature and completing the required Account Verification flow presented there.
Account Verification is used to confirm a users identity before they are granted access to use Glympse Private Groups. This is to provide a level of security, privacy, and confidence to individuals who have received an invite and joined a group, validating identification of the other members of the group and ensuring the possession of the device (number) that the invite was sent to.
Verifying your account also enables users to link different devices to their same Glympse account.
Glympse does not store your phone number. We create a hashkey and match that hashkey to your Glympse account. We only know and display the last 4 digits so that you may identify the number verified in the user's settings.
